Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BarberShops.net, including our website, any related mobile-friendly pages, and the accounts, listings, barber profiles, and paid subscriptions offered through them (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Stellar Ventures, LLC ("BarberShops.net," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We may modify these Terms at any time; changes are effective when posted, and continued use of the Service after a change is posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you have a paid subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes (for example, by email) before they take effect.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to create an account, claim a listing, create a barber profile, or purchase a subscription. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. The Service

BarberShops.net is an independent directory and discovery platform for barber shops and individual barbers across the United States. We are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, any barber shop, barber, or business listed on the site, even where their name, branding, or content appears here. Listing data may originate from public sources, business owners, or individual barbers, and we do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Use of any information on the Service, including hours, pricing, services, or availability, is at your own risk — always confirm details directly with the shop or barber before visiting or booking.

3. Accounts

Certain features — claiming or adding a shop listing, creating an individual barber profile, and managing a subscription — require an account. You can register with an email and password, or sign in using Google or Apple. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and notify us promptly at support@barbershops.net of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, as described in Section 12.

4. Claiming and Adding Listings

Shop owners may claim an existing, unclaimed shop listing or add a new one; individual barbers may create their own public profile, independent of any shop. Claiming a listing does not require us to verify that you are actually the owner or an authorized representative of that business before payment is accepted — we rely on your representation that you have the right to claim or manage the listing. We review claims after the fact and reserve the right to investigate, suspend, reverse, or remove any claim or listing we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, unauthorized, or in violation of these Terms, at any time and without prior notice. If you believe a listing has been claimed or edited fraudulently, contact us immediately at support@barbershops.net.

We may edit, unpublish, or remove any listing or profile at our discretion, including in response to a report of inaccurate information, a legal request, or a violation of these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

BarberShops.net offers two paid annual subscriptions: a Barber Shop Listing subscription ($49/year) and an Individual Barber Profile subscription ($29/year). By purchasing a subscription you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis until you cancel. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and are never received or stored on our servers.

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each year at the then-current price unless canceled before the renewal date. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email in advance of a price change taking effect on renewal.
  • Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; your subscription and any associated benefits (an active/featured listing or a published barber profile) remain in effect through the end of the period you already paid for.
  • No refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, including for partial subscription periods, unused time, or early cancellation.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and may place your subscription in a past-due or suspended state, which can result in your listing being unfeatured or your barber profile being taken offline until payment is resolved or the subscription is canceled.

6. Your Content

If you submit content to the Service — including a shop or profile description, business hours, services and pricing, photos, or other listing details ("Your Content") — you retain ownership of it, but you grant BarberShops.net a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute Your Content as part of operating and promoting the Service. You represent that you have the right to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe any third party's rights, contain false or misleading claims, or violate any law. We may remove or edit Your Content at any time.

7. Booking Requests and Contact Forms

Barber profile pages may include a "Book Appointment" form and other contact forms that let a visitor send their name, contact information, and a message directly to a barber or shop by email. BarberShops.net is not a party to, and has no control over, any appointment, service, or transaction that results from that contact — we do not confirm availability, guarantee that a request will be answered, or process any related payment. Barbers and shops are solely responsible for how they use and respond to information sent through these forms.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent listing, profile, or claim information;
  • Impersonate a business or person you are not authorized to represent;
  • Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that violates another person's privacy or publicity rights;
  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-collect data from the Service other than through means we make available (such as our sitemap or search); or
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service uses or links to third-party services, including Stripe (payments), Google and Apple (sign-in), Google Analytics and Google AdSense (analytics and advertising), MapTiler (maps), and Sentry (error monitoring). These third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service or any website linked from the Service.

10. Intellectual Property

The BarberShops.net name, logo, website design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content and any rights expressly granted in these Terms, nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property right to you.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY LISTING, PROFILE, OR OTHER CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

12. Limitation of Liability; Termination

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BARBERSHOPS.NET AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or that we believe is harmful to other users, third parties, or us. You may stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution — will survive.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BarberShops.net, its owners, employees, and licensors from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration Agreement

Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights.

You and BarberShops.net agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. This means you and BarberShops.net each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action. The arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator under the rules of a reputable arbitration provider (such as the American Arbitration Association), and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to support@barbershops.net within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms, including your name and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, this arbitration section will not apply to you, but the rest of these Terms will remain in effect.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent the arbitration agreement in Section 14 is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Florida.

16. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and BarberShops.net regarding the Service.
